Our Classes
Casey and I co-teach our classes. We feel very strongly about the
importance of the coach and believe that teaching the class together, as a
couple, will enhance your experience with our class. Casey offers up the "coach's perspective" while I offer up the "mom perspective".
We teach our classes out of our home, in Roeland Park. Our classes are
video enriched, we show about 6-7 birth videos in all and also we have guest
speakers come to class. The guest speakers that come are previous graduates
from our Bradley Classes and come to share their personal birth stories and
personal experiences with our classes. We feel that it is important for
you, as students, to hear other perspectives.
After a class is complete and everyone has had their babies, we also
organize a "reunion". We all get back together to talk, share birth
stories, see babies, eat some food, and have a good time catching up. It's
something all our students really look forward to!
If you are interested in 'previewing' one of our current classes in session, please contact
us and we can find a time for you and your coach to visit class.
The class dates listed are approximate and will be changed based on
prospective student's specific needs. Our classes can meet any day of the
week, Sunday through Thursday. We like to leave it up each particular class
to determine which day will work best for their schedules before we set the
day for that 12-week session.
We value the intimacy that comes in small groups, so we hold small
classes with up to 4 couples. We believe that by holding small classes,
more one-on-one needs are met, more questions are answered and more
bonds between student to student and students to teachers happen.
The group meets once a week for a full 12-week course to gain expertise
in the skills, knowledge and practice that is needed to achieve the
best birthing experience.
A lot of couples stay in close contact after their births with support groups
and play groups because of the bonding that takes place in this small and comfortable
home environment.
The information and techniques that we will teach you and your partner will
be an invaluable asset that you will be able to use throughout your entire
life. Many Bradley® Graduates are surprised by how much their Bradley Class
helped their own relationship, as a couple, to open communication, be responsive
to each other's needs, and to develop stronger bonds with each other and your
developing baby.
Many Bradley Grads will attest to The Bradley Method® being good for their
relationship.
